Baern is over 200 years old and has lived in Brushton for some time. He is the local head of the resistance and shares the history of the land. Baern has several weapons to sell and offers discounts to those willing to hear about current events in the realm.

His companion in the smithy is a small flumph named Drift. She came to Baern in his youth while he was exploring a deep cavern system and has been his confidant and friend ever since. Drift floats back and forth hypnotically, earning her name. Flumphs act like psychic mood rings, changing color based on their emotions, and they communicate telepathically, usually through images and emotions.
