The Library of Madness

The party ventures deeper into a shifting magical library, facing strange trials, illusions, and a final test that reveals truths best left forgotten

The Library of Madness

The party began their journey on this day by ascending a spiral staircase for what felt like hours. At its peak, they encountered a magical door that transported them into a strange extradimensional — a labyrinth of shifting rooms, each with bizarre, surreal, or deadly properties.

🌀 Rooms of Mystery and Madness

Each door they opened led to a different location, seemingly random:

  1. The Riggle Room — A circular chamber where shifting runes danced across the walls.
  2. The Feather Room — Home to hundreds of floating paper feathers that vanished if removed.
  3. The Galaxy Room — An open void into starlight and darkness with no floor in sight.
  4. The Bell Room — Contained a massive cracked bell; its chime disoriented the mind.
  5. The Stairs Room — Each stair was carved with glowing runes that transferred to the skin when touched.
  6. The Newspaper Room — Covered in fleshy, whispering newspapers. They spoke in the voices of loved ones, but the content was old news from Earth, twisted and surreal.
  7. The Meat Room — A maze of bloody, slippery floors with hanging meat, where the party was attacked by monsters with ink and quills sewn into their hands.
  8. The Vorga Room — There they found Vorga, a powerful barbarian who had been trapped like them. She decided to join the party after proving her strength.
  9. Lulu’s Room — A beautiful, calm illusion masking her years of imprisonment. She had been trapped here for nearly a decade. Her magical prison fed her and kept her safe, but alone. She had little chance of escaping the shifting rooms alone.

Lulu knew she couldn’t survive the labyrinth on her own — her room had all the food and water she needed, but not a way out. When rescued, she was deeply grateful, and her radiant magic would soon aid the party.

🧛‍♂️ The Librarian’s Hall: Final Battle

At last, the party entered the main hall of the library, an enormous chamber lit by stained glass and magical lanterns. There stood The Librarian — a vampire lord, cloaked in stitched skin, who demanded Silas’s tattoos to add to his grotesque collection.

The party refused. Combat erupted.

  • Thomas stayed at range, expertly firing his custom rivet gun, sending metal darts through the vampire’s minions.
  • His Steel Defender remained by the Wizard’s side, guarding against attacks.
  • Lulu and Blaze both unleashed radiant power, their spells searing the undead flesh of the vampire and his subordinates.
  • Silas, Elliot, and Del fought with grit and fury, navigating the chaotic terrain.

Just as the Librarian began to falter, Vorga leapt into action. With a furious cry, she shattered the stained glass window, letting in blinding sunlight and cold mountain wind. Her hair flew wildly as light cascaded across the chamber.

With the vampire slain, Vorga jumped through the broken window, escaping back to her homeland and tribe — her long imprisonment finally over.

From the Librarian’s corpse, Silas retrieved the Tome of Knowledge, the powerful artifact they had come to find.
